GtoPdb Ligand ID: 4905

Synonyms: CSF-1 | lanimostim | macrophage-CSF
Immunopharmacology Ligand
Comment: M-CSF (CSF1) controls survival and differentiation of macrophages via activation of the CSF1 receptor (a receptor tyrosine kinase). The biologically active peptide is a homodimer or a heterodimer.
Pharmacological modulators of the CSF1/CSF1R axis, targeting tumour-associated macrophage (TAM) survival, are being developed for various solid tumour and hematological oncology indications as well as for autoimmune diseases.
