Bioactivity Comments
In vitro R55 stabilizes retromer by 10oC. This activity increases retromer levels in neuronal cultures and reduces APP levels in endosomes. APP is shifted away from BACE1-dependent processing, towards a neuroprotective pathway [1]. There is no classical binding affinity data available for this ligand, quantifying the interaction of R55 with any single molecular target, so we have not tagged a primary molecular target in this instance.
