Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects
The active form, cilazaprilat, competes with angiotensisn I for binding to ACE thereby inhibiting its enzymatic conversion to angiotensin II. Reduced levels of angiotensin II leads to reduced blood pressure.
