Immunopharmacology Comments
TRAM-34 blockade of KCa3.1 has been shown to inhibit chemotaxis of inflammatory monocytes [3,16] and immature human dendritic cells [4,13], and to increase tumour cell killing by a subset of human natural killer cells [8]. Further experimental evidence indicates that inhibition of KCa3.1 by TRAM-34 ellicits immunosuppressive activity in models of allergic rhinitis [10,15], diabetic ketoacidosis-induced brain inflammation [6], neuroinflammation resulting from ischemia/reperfusion injury [2], rheumatoid arthritis [5], inflammatory bowel disease [11], and transplantation [1,7], as well as and anti-fibrotic activity in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis [12].
