Comments
Phenacemide is a ureide (acetylurea) anticonvulsant. It is a congener and ring-opened analogue of the hydantoin phenytoin, and is structurally related to the barbiturate family of drugs and other hydantoins. Use of phenacemide was widely discontinued due to toxic side-effects.
