Immunopharmacology Comments
The IL-6 receptor is a complex of the IL6R α subunit (ligand binding subunit) and the IL6ST β subunit (signal transducer). IL6ST is shared with other cytokine receptor complexes. The endogenous ligand is IL-6. The IL-6 receptor also binds ciliary neurotrophic factor [3-4].

Biocad's anti-IL6R mAb levilimab (BCD-089) has reached Phase 2 clinical trial in patients with active, seropositive rheumatoid arthritis (see NCT03455842).
