Comment

PINK1 is extensively post-translationally modified. Phosphorylation, ubiquitination, S-nitrosylation and lysine-independent SUMOylation play roles in regulating protein stability, subcellular localisation and cellular functions. The latter modification has been implicated in PINK1 regulation of mitophagy, and the sensing and removal of damaged mitochondria.
