Comment: Altromycin B is a pluramycin-like, anthraquinone antitumour antibacterial that was developed for Gram-negative activity [1-2]. It was isolated from a soil-dwelling actinomycete, AB 1246E-26. As it is a DNA minor groove binder and DNA alkylator it is likely highly toxic.
