Bioactivity Comments
ω-Hydroxyemodin inhibited quorum sensing, with an IC50 of 8 μM in a clinical isolate of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) [2]. The compound has been shown to significantly reduce abscess and ulcer formation and to promote bacterial clearance in a mouse model of Staphylococcus aureus SSTI [1].
