AZD5904 was developed as a myeloperoxidase (MPO; P05164) inhibitor, but was abandoned as a clinical candidate for the treatment of inflammatory conditions involving oxidative stress. This compound is now included in AstaZeneca's Open Innovation Pharmacology Toolbox.
