Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects Click here for help
pGlu-Aβ is found in high concentrations in the amyloid plaques which are characteristic of Alzheimer's disease (AD) [2]. pGlu-Aβ is more resistant to degradation than normal Aβ, and acts to increase protein misfolding and aggregation[3]. Inhibition of QC is being investigated as novel mechanism to prevent the formation of neurotoxic plaque formation as a potential treatment for AD.
