Immunopharmacology Comments
RIPK2 acts as a key signal transduction component in the NOD2 pathway and it contributes to a variety of human pathologies, including immune-mediated inflammatory diseases. Small molecule RIPK2 inhibitors are under investigation for clinical anti-inflammatory potential. Inhibitor 5 reduces spontaneous production of proinflammatory cytokines (e.g. IL-1β and IL-6) in a concentration-dependent manner in explant cultures from patients with Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis [2].
