(Lysophospholipid (S1P) receptors)
Pharmacological targeting of the S1P/S1PR1 signalling pathway (and its regulation of MMP-2-mediated extracellular matrix remodelling) in bone marrow-derived mesenchymal stromal cells (BM-MSCs) may potentiate the beneficial effects of these cells in tissue repair. Exploiting S1P/S1PR1 signalling is suggested as a novel option for BM-MSC-based therapy for potential in the regenerative medicine field.
