General Comments |
TAF1 is a component of the STAGA complex, which contains TRRAP, GCN5, TFIID, CBP/P300 and Sp1. TAF1 is susceptible to oncogenic activation by MYC and has been shown to block p53 activity. Inactivation of TAF1 triggers a DNA damage response. BAY-299 is an inhibitor of TAF1 that can be used to further characterise its biological role and may also provide a lead for future development for anti-proliferative potential. |
