Comment SETD2 has been identified as a druggable target that lies downstream of a cancer-causing mutation in the NSD2 (MMSET) gene that is found in a proportion of multiple myelomas [25]. Epizyme have designed EPZ-719 to target SETD2. In preclinical studies EPZ-719 induces tumour growth inhibition in mice with myeloma tumours with and without the NSD2 mutation.
