General Comments
IFI16 is a member of the ALR pattern recognition receptor family, a set of four related human genes classified by structural similarities as the Pyrin and HIN domain family (HGNC family 995) [3]. The mouse has 12 IFI16 homologs but none shows 1:1 orthology with the human gene.
