This subfamily of 4 SIGLECs share conserved sequence homology. SIGLEC15 from this group has been implicated in myeloid cell-mediated modulation in cancer making it a novel therapeutic target to enhance antitumour immunity (cancer immunotherapy) [1,3-4,6-7].
