The enzymes in this subfamily of mono-ADP-ribosylating (MARylating) PARPs are encoded by 11 genes in humans. In published literature these enzymes may be referred to as 'mono-ARTs'. We have included here those enzymes for which small molecule modulators have been reported. Of note is the PARP7 (TIPARP) inhibitor atamparib (RBN2397) that is in clinical trial as an antineoplastic for solid tumours.

Nomenclature poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase family member 14
Previous and unofficial names ARTD8 | BAL2 | PARP14
Genes PARP14 (Hs), Parp14 (Mm), Parp14 (Rn)
Ensembl ID ENSG00000173193 (Hs), ENSMUSG00000034422 (Mm), ENSRNOG00000023334 (Rn)
UniProtKB AC Q460N5 (Hs), Q2EMV9 (Mm)
EC number
2.4.2.30
Inhibitors
RBN012759 pIC50 8.5 [11]
Comment Located in the nucleus and/or cytosol; primarily involved in gene regulation and the immune response. Controls the effects of the IL-4/STAT6 pathway on the expression of genes that influence lymphocyte physiology and provides protection against IL-4-induced apoptosis [2]. Highly expressed in aggressive B cell lymphoma.
