Target Id 3336
Nomenclature MBL associated serine protease 2
Previous and unofficial names mannan-binding lectin serine protease 2 | Map19 | MAP-2
Genes MASP2 (Hs), Masp2 (Mm), Masp2 (Rn)
Ensembl ID ENSG00000009724 (Hs), ENSMUSG00000028979 (Mm), ENSRNOG00000011258 (Rn)
UniProtKB AC O00187 (Hs), Q91WP0 (Mm), Q9JJS8 (Rn)
EC number
3.4.21.104
Comment Thrombin-like enzyme of the coagulation cascade that cleaves prothrombin to thrombin. Also crucial for activating the lectin pathway of the complement system in response to pathogens. Anti-MASP2 antibodies are proposed to reduce thrombotic microangiopathy and blood vessel damage that can arise following hematopoietic stem cell transplant.
