« Hide

STAT family transcription factor proteins are phosphorylated by receptor kinases that are the receptors for cytokines and growth factors. Homo- or heterodimer phospho-STATs then translocate to the nucleus to regulate transcription of responsive genes.

Nomenclature signal transducer and activator of transcription 1
Previous and unofficial names ISGF-3 | STAT91 | transcription factor ISGF-3 components p91/p84
Genes STAT1 (Hs), Stat1 (Mm), Stat1 (Rn)
Ensembl ID ENSG00000115415 (Hs), ENSMUSG00000026104 (Mm), ENSRNOG00000014079 (Rn)

Inhibitors
ZDZ-553 pIC50 6.1 [3]
Comment STAT1-mediated transcription is induced by ligands including IFN-α, IFN-γ, EGF, PDGF and IL-6. It is involved in the metabolic regulation and progression of inflammatory responses. Obesity-driven STAT1 signaling in the liver has been linked to metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
