Ligand id: 3685

Name: CXCL4

Species: Human

Compound class Endogenous peptide in human, mouse or rat
Ligand families/groups Chemokines
platelet factor 4 (PF4)
CXCL4 is a C-X-C motif chemokine first identified in megakaryocytes and platelets. It is a potent antiangiogenic chemokine and also promotes inflammatory fibrosis [3]. It can be used as a prognostic marker for the fibrosing autoimmune disease systemic sclerosis (scleroderma) [2]. A CXCR3 splice variant, CXCR3B, is a functional receptor for CXCL4 [1].
