Ligand id: 6594

Name: echistatin

Compound class Peptide or derivative
Echistatin is a disintegrin derived from the venom of several viper species. The reference from which our biological activity data is from does not specify the exact form of echistatin used in their experiments. The sequence shown here represents the α1 isoform. Echistatin acts as an αVβ3 integrin and glycoprotein IIb/IIIa (αIIbβ3) inhibitor. Echistatin inhibits platelet aggregation [1], i.e. it has an anti-coagulant effect.
