Bioactivity Comments
In in vitro investigations using human brain homogenate, levomepromazine (aka methotrimeprazine in the study) displaced [3H]doxepin (a high potency histamine H1 receptor antagonist) with a Kd value of 0.58nM [2]. In rat brain striatal preparations levomepromazine diplaced [3H]sulpiride binding (ie to the D2 dopamine receptor) with an IC50 value of 17nM [1].
