Used in the treatment of tinea pedis, tinea cruris, tinea corporis, cutaneous candidiasis and tinea versicolor.

Inhibits the cytochrome p-450 enzyme 14-α demethylase enzyme, inhibiting the conversion of lanosterol to fungal cell wall component ergosterol. This inhibition therefore results in increased cellular permeability leading to leakage of the cellular contents.
