Summary of Clinical Use
A loop diuretic use to treat edema associated with heart failure, hepatic and renal disease.
Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects
Bumetanide appears to cause altered electrolyte transfer in the proximal tubule of the kidney. This results in renal excretion of sodium, chloride, and water and, hence, diuresis.
