Clorgiline is an irreversible and selective inhibitor of monoamine oxidase A (MAO-A) [1]. MAO-A catalyses the oxidation of serotonin, dopamine and noradrenaline, so has been a major focus of drug discovery to identify compounds with potential to treat depressive illness, anxiety disorder and movement disorders such as parkinsonism.
