Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects
By antagonising the muscarinic acetylcholine M1 receptor, biperiden is believed to correct the imbalance between the excitatory (cholinergic) and inhibitory (dopaminergic) systems in the corpus striatum associated with Parkinsonism.
