Pemirolast is contained in opthalmic solutions used to treat the symptoms of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis, including itching, redness and swelling. |
Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects |
Pemirolast blocks the action of endogenous histamine at histamine H1 receptor. The drug inhibits eosinophil infiltration in the eye and prevents their release of inflammatory mediators. |
