Metoprine inhibits histamine N-methyltransferase (HNMT, P50135) [1-2], an enzyme involved in the catabolism of endogenous histamine. Metoprine activity results in increased levels of histamine and activation of histamine receptors. Histaminergic activity in the brain may be associated with memory [2].
