Immunopharmacology Comments
CXCL8 bioactivity is regulated by proteolytic truncations, citrullination, and the decoy receptor DARC. It signals through two receptors - CXCR1 (IL-8 RA) and CXCR2 (IL-8 RB), and can be sequestered by binding to the protease inhibitor serpin A1 (alpha-1 antitrypsin).
