Hyperfibrinolysis causes excessive bleeding by destabilising clot formation, and represents a dangerous medical emergency. Antifibrinolytic agents are used to abrogate this type of bleeding. CM-352 acts as an antifibrinolytic by potently inhibiting MMP-10 and MMP-3 [2], two matrix metalloproteinases involved in the regulation of thrombus dissolution and extracellular matrix proteolysis [1,3-4].
