ethionamide is an approved drug (FDA (1965))
Compound class: Synthetic organic
Comment: Ethionamide is a thioamide compound with potent antibacterial activity against mycobacteria. It is a prodrug that requires intracellular activation, by the monooxygenase EthA, in Mycobacterium tuberculosis [1].
