Comment Aldehyde oxidase 1 is a cytosolic enzyme that catalyses the oxidation of aldehydes into carboxylic acid and hydrogen peroxide. It is an important hepatic drug-metabolising enzyme [2-3], and its involvement in free-radical generation has implicated its activity in disease pathology [1,4].
