Comment: This hexapetide has been determined as the functional core sequence of N-terminal Aβ fragment amyloid β1-16. It constitutes residues 10-15 in the C-terminal region of the parent Aβ1-42 peptide. This 6-mer retains all of the neuromodulatory and neuro-protective actions of amyloid β1-16 against Aβ-induced neurotoxicity [1-2].
