Comment: Panobacumab is a fully human IgM kappa monoclonal antibody directed against the O-polysaccharide component of surface lipopolysaccharide (LPS) of serotype O11 Pseudomonas aeruginosa [1]. It is under clinical development as an adjunctive immunotherapy for the treatment of nosocomial pneumonia caused by O11 serotype P. aeruginosa.

Bioactivity Comments
The activity of panobacumab against serotype O11 P. aeruginosa has been assessed in vitro using a flow cytometry-based opsonophagocytosis assay [1]. In this study it was found to mediate phagocytosis in a dose-dependent manner, showing half-maximal activity at a concentration of 0.1ng/ml for serotype O11 reference strain FT-2.
