Compound class:
Peptide
Comment: Petrelintide (ZP8396) is a long-acting (lipidated) analogue of the anorexigenic peptide amylin [1]. It was developed by Zealand Pharma for the treatment of type 2 diabetes and obesity. Functionally, petrelintide acts as a dual amylin and calcitonin receptor agonist (DACRA). Such analogues are proposed to provide GLP-1-like efficacy with reduced propensity for side effects compared to glucagon and GLP-1 receptor agonists.
