Bioactivity Comments
Citrocin inhibits Escherichia coli RNA polymerase in vitro with more potency than microcin J25 [1]. However, citrocin has a higher MIC (16-100 μm) against E. coli than microcin J25 (~1 μm), suggesting that antibacterial activity is determined by cellular uptake of the compound [1].
