Compound class:
Synthetic organic
Comment: KP-736 is a cephem (β-lactam) antibacterial compound, with broad-spectrum activity against both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and also demonstrating antipseudomonal activity [1]. Note that we show the salt stripped structure, but strictly KP-736 is the sodium salt (PubChem CID: 9690114) and any bioactivity data likely relates to this salt form.

| Bioactivity Comments |
| The in vitro antibacterial activity of KP-736 has been evaluted against a panel of clinical isolates and found to be particularly potent against Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas spp. [1]. KP-736 inhibits Pseudomonas aeruginosa NCTC 10490 penicillin-binding protein 1A (PBP1a) with an IC50 of 0.058 μg/ml and PBP3 with an IC50 of 0.081 μg/ml [1]. |
