Functionally, it blocks bacterial protein synthesis by inhibiting type 1 methionyl-tRNA synthetase in Gram-positive bacteria [3]. MRS-2541 is one of the chemical structures claimed in patent WO2024242729A1 filed by the University of Washington [2].
