Used to diagnose failure to control duodenal pH, either as a result of pancreatic exocrine dysfunction or gastrinoma.
Mechanism Of Action and Pharmacodynamic Effects
Secretin binding leads to the secrection of acid-neutralising bicarbonate or the reduction of the secretion of gastrin and therefore increases duodenal pH.
