Immunopharmacology Comments
Soluble CX3CL1 is a chemoattractant for T cells and monocytes and the membrane bound ligand is involved in leukocyte-endothelial adhesion via its mucin-like domain. It is the ligand for chemokine receptor CX3CR1 [3]. The CX3CL1/CX3CR1 axis also plays a role in microglial cell migration [5]. Eisai is developing quetmolimab (E6011 ; KANAb 001), a first-in-class humanised anti-CX3CL1 monoclonal antibody for immunomodulatory potential in the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis [7] (max Phase 2 e.g. NCT02960490), Crohn's disease (Phase 1/2 NCT02039063) and primary biliary cholangitis (Phase 2 NCT03092765) [4,6-7].
