Comment: Galectin 3 binding protein binds galectin-3. The galectin 3 binding protein/galectin-3 interaction appears to play a critical role in venous thrombosis formation in animal models. In human patients, elevated circulating galectin-3 binding protein levels correlate with acute venous thrombosis [1].
