GtoPdb Ligand ID: 9324

Comment: This is insulin-like peptide 5 (INSL5) analogue 7 with single-point substitution T9R [1]. It is the minimal sequence required to retain INSL5 mimetic activity. Like ghrelin, INSL5 is an orexigenic gut hormone that plays a physiological role in driving food intake. INSL5 acts via the relaxin family peptide receptor 4 (RXFP4). INSL5 mimetics are being investigated for their potential to provide clinical benefit in the treatment of anorexia.
