STAT6 inhibition is proposed to selectively inhibit Th2 differentiation without affecting Th1 differentiation. AS-1517499 ameliorates antigen-induced airway hyperresponsiveness in mice, via inhibition of IL-13/STAT6 pathway signalling, and inhibits IL-4-induced Th2 differentiation of mouse spleen T cells (IC50 2.3 nM).
