Bioactivity Comments
Efsevin is a synthetic agonist of the voltage-dependent anion channel 2 (VDAC2, link to the HGNC VDAC family). Efsevin acts as a gating modifier and enhances gating into a low-conductance, less anion selective state. Treatment of cardiomyocytes with efsevin activates mitochondrial calcium uptake and suppresses arrhythmogenesis.
