Ceftibuten has broad-spectrum activity against a range of Gram-negative and selected Gram-positive bacteria (reviewed in [2]), including Streptococcus pneumoniae (MIC90 of 8 μg/ml), Streptococcus pyogenes (MIC90 of 0.5 μg/ml) and Haemophilus influenzae (MIC90 ≤ 0.06 μg/ml).
