Bioactivity Comments
Rokitamycin has improved antibacterial activity against Gram-positive bacteria compared to josamycin and midecamycin [3]. The same study found that it did not have activity against the Gram-negative bacterial strains tested, with the exception of Haemophilus influenzae 1346 (MIC of 6.3-12.5 μg/ml). Rokitamycin also has activity against Borrelia burgdorferi, a spirochete that causes Lyme disease [2].
