GtoPdb Ligand ID: 5527

Synonyms: antibacterial protein LL-37 | cathelicidin LL 37 (human)
Immunopharmacology Ligand
Comment: A member of the cathelicidin family of antimicrobial peptides. Induces FPRL-1-mediated chemotaxis of human neutrophils. The mouse orthologue of LL-37 is CRAMP.
LL-37 disrupts bacterial biofilms [2] and progressed to clinical evaluation as a topical treatment for polymicrobial infected wounds.
