Guide to Malaria Pharmacology Comments
In addition to rapid and potent activity against the asexual blood stages of the malaria parasite, methnaridine has good oral bioavailability, a long half-life and a low clearance rate [1]. Further preclinical studies, to evaluate the use of methnaridine as part of an artemisinin-combination therapy (ACT), are being carried out.

Potential Target/Mechanism Of Action: As the precise MOA of methnaridine is not yet known, we do not have a molecular target for this compound.
