GtoPdb Ligand ID: 11858

Synonyms: 7,3'-Dihydroxy-2',4',8-trimethoxyisoflavan | Duartin | UM9
Compound class: Synthetic organic
Comment: UM-9 (duartin) is a plant-derived isoflavone compound that can be isolated from Kaempferia parviflora (Thai ginseng). It has been demonstrated to act as an inhibitor of TPC2 channels [1]. Blocking TPC2 in vitro increases melanin production in melanosomes, and inhibits proliferation, migration and invasion of melanoma cells.
